One in four shark species are threatened with extinction, yet shark meat is sold at grocery stores worldwide. In Mexico and Central America this meat is labeled as “bollilo” or “cazon”; in Canada it is labeled as “shark steak”and all around the world shark meat is not labeled with the species name. This is a problem because consumers could unsuspectingly be purchasing and consuming meat from an endangered species of shark. We need your help! Please sign the petition NOW to ask major grocery stores to stop selling threatened species and to label all shark meat sold with the species name.
